Vision

DIGMA quantifies and promotes the economic impact of the Massachusetts design cluster as a means of uniting and growing the design industries in-state and maximizing their significant contribution to the Massachusetts economy.

As such, we shine a spotlight on the many benefits that the native design fields offer to the people, businesses, and local and state governments of Massachusetts. We believe design makes life more enjoyable, work more efficient, the economy more productive, and citizenship more engaging.

Furthermore, we believe that Boston's status as a national center of design excellence, innovation, and leadership needs to be more explicitly promoted in order to attract creative workers and businesses to the state and raise Massachusetts' profile as an epicenter of the creative economy.

DIGMA's activities are ultimately intended to benefit firms and individual practitioners in the region's design community, as well as other Massachusetts industries that utilize design and those – such as the educational sector – that benefit from and rely on strong design programs.
